Arthur's Birthday

This year my boyfriend, Arthur turned 30! I usually bake him a cake, but decided to make him a cheesecake, his ultimate fav. I've never made it for him the past 4 years since we've been dating. I actually haven't baked a cheesecake in over 5 years. The cake looked magnificent, however, the orange zest made it taste...well, orangy! Lesson to be learned, I will omit or use orange zest sparingly in the future.

This Superman cake was the first cake I made for Arthur aka Mr. Snuggles 4 years ago. I also made him a card with the Superman emblem out of construction paper.  The whole theme looked really cute.I didn't have any cake tools then, so I cut a slit and used a ziploc bag to pipe.  Ziploc bags are a lifesaver. If you ever run out of decorating bags you can cut a slit on the ziploc, drop the tip, and pipe-no coupler needed.  Just make sure the ziploc bag is strong enough to avoid tearing.
